Tracy has over twenty years of experience studying and mapping soils and vegetation in the western United States, including Alaska.

Her expertise includes soil genesis and geomorphology; soil sampling, description and classification; soil laboratory preparation and analysis; aerial photo and satellite image interpretation and mapping; soil and vegetation survey; and ecological land classification.

Tracy received her bachelor's degree in environmental studies with a minor in soil science from Utah State University in Logan.
