Endangered, Threatened, and Sensitive Species Studies

ABR has assembled an experienced team of biologists with the specialized knowledge and creative approaches needed to identify, delineate, and solve problems associated with endangered, threatened, and sensitive species. We have experience with a variety of species, ranging from amphibians in the Pacific Northwest, endangered falcons in Alaska, to endangered seabirds and bats in Hawaii. Our projects have varied from basic inventories to complex disturbance studies and we have worked in a myriad of environments including the tropics (Hawaii), the arctic (Alaska), and the temperate zone (Oregon, Washington, California). Our scientists have prepared biological assessments, worked as members of federal recovery teams, and prepared draft recovery plans, as well as assisting clients with Section 7 consultations for proposed projects.

Our specific services in this area include the following:

  • Population Surveys and Censuses
  • Biological Assessments
  • Site-specific Surveys for Endangered, Threatened, and Sensitive
    Species
  • Assessments of Survey Protocols for TES Species
(see Radar Ornithology for our work with Marbled Murrelets, Newell’s Shearwaters, and Hawaiian Petrels)
  • Habitat Use Studies and Analysis
  • Long-term Population Monitoring
  • Disturbance Studies
  • Preparation of Recovery Plans
  • Assisting Clients with Section 7 Consultations
