Scammon Bay Hydroelectric Feasibility Stream Surveys

ABR was contracted by Hatch Associates Consultants, Inc. to assist in determining fish presence/absence in several streams near the community of Scammon Bay, Alaska. The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) requested a feasibility study to determine the potential for hydroelectric projects in the area. Hatch prepared an analysis of the potential for hydroelectric projects on several small, high gradient streams in the Askinuk Mountains that flow north into the Kun River and Kongishluk Bay. ABR provided assistance in providing initial stream habitat assessments, determined the likelihood of resident or anadromous fish presence and provided input on additional environmental study needs.

ABR's triple bottom line: "Environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability"
