Radar and Visual studies of Newell’s Shearwaters and Hawaiian Petrels, Lihue, Hawaii.

ABR used radar and visual techniques to: (1) collect baseline information on flight directions, passage rates, and flight altitudes of Newell's Shearwaters and Hawaiian Petrels over the proposed road reconfiguration project near Lihue, Hawaii (2) estimated the daily number of those species that fly within the project area and (3) estimated annual fatality rates of shearwaters and petrels at the project site.
