Nearshore Seining of Coastal Waters near Kotzebue, Alaska

ABR surveyed fish assemblages in nearshore coastal waters adjacent to Kotzebue, Alaska during pilot-study beach seining efforts in August 2015. Surveys also included analysis of habitat substrate types and invertebrate communities at fish seining survey stations. The data collected during survyes provided baseline information on food and habitat resources available to nearshore fishes at the time of beach seining. The results of these efforts informed study plan development for the expansion of survey efforts in other parts of Kotzebue Sound beyond 2015.
