Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences

ABR’s Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences Program offers a range of research and consulting services to provide baseline scientific information on aquatic resources, assist our clients in successfully navigating environmental permitting, and assist fishery managers in decision-making processes. We specialize in providing environmental documentation of aquatic resources including fish assemblages, fish habitat, and water quality to those organizations who are either working to develop resources (e.g., the oil and gas, mining, hydroelectric industries) or who are working to manage or restore aquatic habitats, water quality and fisheries resources.

Our client list includes state and local government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and private industry. Our scientists’ expertise includes taxonomy, distribution, and ecology of North American fish species, and in designing and conducting surveys in freshwater lakes, streams, and large rivers, as well as nearshore marine environments throughout Alaska.
