Bob Burgess’s expertise includes the behavioral ecology of terrestrial vertebrates, such as arctic foxes, lemmings and voles, arctic shorebirds and passerines, and waterfowl.

He has managed several long-term ecological studies in northern and interior Alaska and has field experience in the Pacific Northwest.

Most recently, his focus has been on terrestrial ecology, emphasizing tundra rehabilitation, habitat restoration, damage assessment, and ecological risk assessment. In addition, Bob manages wildlife, fisheries, botanical, instream flow and groundwater studies for the Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric project.
