Connecting with clients and community

We are in the midst of a busy season with many competing obligations: attendance and presentations at conferences; reports about fieldwork completed in summer and fall; and engaging with our community as we hunker down and bundle up for Alaska’s winter that finally showed up this week. Conferences like the Resource Development Council’s Alaska Resources Conference provide a great opportunity to hear what many of our industry clients have to share about the current year in review and outlook for 2017. ABR takes pride in supporting responsible development efforts by clients including ConocoPhillips, BP Alaska, Caelus Energy, and Hilcorp. We also listened attentively to what Governor Bill Walker and Commissioner Andy Mack had to say about the State’s plans for the Alaska LNG pipeline project.

After two days of connecting with clients and partners at the RDC conference, it was a pleasure to see many of the same people sitting at tables together for lunch the following day to celebrate Alaska Philanthropy Day with the Alaska Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. ABR, Inc. was honored to receive the award for Outstanding Small Business, accepted by President Steve Murphy with many employees from our Anchorage office in attendance. The following week, we continued living that commitment by preparing and delivering meals to 12 families in the Fairbanks North Star Borough on Thanksgiving Day. We are now filling in the forms for ABR’s Charitable Match contributions. Those of us with children are helping them chose a charity to which ABR will donate $25 in their name. It is the season of giving. May it be a generous one.

ABR's triple bottom line: "Environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability"
